Implementation of Hospital Disaster Preparedness and Response Plan in Nepal: A Mixed Study in 3 Public Hospitals of Nepal

Introduction: Considering the need for hospital disaster preparedness post-Nepal earthquake 2015, Ministry of Health and Population Nepal developed a Hospital Disaster Preparedness Response Plan (HDPRP) mass casualty management. However, until now, there is no scientific literature on how district hospitals, which are major health service providers in Nepal, implemented their HDPRP during incidents (MCIs). So, this study aims to understand was MCIs three public hospitals Nepal. Method: A mixed sequential QUANT-QUAL designed. Out seven districts under severely hit category by Earthquake were selected randomly. For quantitative component, WHO emergency response checklist adapted self-administered each hospital. Based scoring system, placed one categories (effective, insufficient, unacceptable), assess level implementation. qualitative semi-structured interviews conducted An inductive thematic analysis carried out.
